Motivational Running Playlist

Running is one of my favorite ways to exercise, but I find it hard to stay motivated without the right music. I constantly find myself running to the beat of whatever song I'm listening to and if it isn't upbeat, fun, and motivating it can be hard to keep going. So here are some of my favorite songs to run to that help keep me going. And now that the weather is getting warm again I can run outside!!

Hope these songs help keep you motivated on your runs as well!

Bath & Body Spring Line

One of my favorite parts of Spring is when Bath & Body comes out with their annual Spring line. They always have such amazing scents and the packaging is super cute! And what better time to buy than when they are having their buy 3 get 3 and 2 candles for $24 sales!

The thing I love about Bath & Body products is that they really aren't that expensive and the scents are soooo good. Their candles burn evenly and last a super long time too. But my favorite products are always the body sprays and body creams. They make my skin super soft and hydrated and it stays that way all day long. Plus, the scent stays on your hands and you can smell them when you get bored in class or at work!

My favorite scents from this line are Hibiscus Guava Fresca and Seaside Pink Jasmine. I'm not a huge fan of super flowery or super fruity scents and I think these two scents really hit the middle ground to create a perfect blend of the two. I can't stop smelling them!

Here's to the coming of Spring...FINALLY!

Viva Las Vegas

This weekend my sister Mikall and I decided to hit up Vegas for some sisterly bonding, good food, and most importantly...THE TENORS!

My sister has loved this group for years and has passed the love onto me. So when they decided to come to Vegas we knew we would have to make the trip down just to see them in concert. And it was totally worth it. They are so amazing live and they are really easy on the eyes ;) haha! The concert was definitely the highlight of the trip. Check out their website here.
I loved the fact that the hotel we stayed in did not have a casino and did not allow smoking. We stayed at the Trump International Hotel and it was gorgeous. We had a great view and it was nice to be a bit further away from the drinking, smoking and gambling.

We also had time to hit up Guy Fieri's restaurant "Go Big Or Go Home" and the food was to die for! We got the BBQ chicken wings and a burger. They were the best wings and burgers I have ever had. If you go to Vegas I would highly suggest you take the time to eat there.

I had such a blast with my sister and I really miss the sun. All in all it was a great weekend!

Presidents' Weekend

St. George is one of my favorite places in the world. There is beautiful hiking, clean air, delicious cupcakes, and many memories to be made. With the long weekend due to Presidents' Day me and some friends decided to hit the road and have a fun relaxing vacation of hiking and doing yoga poses!

If you ever go to St. George and you like eating cupcakes then you definitely need to check out Twenty-Five Main. It is located on 25 Main St. and their cupcakes are my favorite! They also have really good lunch food as well. Talk about instagramable ;) !

I had a great weekend! I hope you did too!

My New Year Resolution

I can hardly believe that 2016 has finally come around. It is crazy how fast each year can go by and how much can happen in that small amount of time. 2015 was a year full of change, heart ache, adventure, and way too much fun! But with every new year there are always things that we hope to be better at or change. Sure, we all make the goals to be healthier, do better at work, save money, etc. But have you ever stopped and thought about a single goal that you really just want to focus on?

This past year I really began to notice that I have a horrible habit of comparing myself to literally everyone around me. Whether it was a sister, friend, blogger, or even the girl that sat in front of me in a class; I was constantly comparing their qualities with mine. I found myself changing in subtle ways to try and become just like them. I was having a hard time being myself and I started to realize how unhappy it made me. So I decided that this year is going to be different.

This year my goal is to simply be myself! No more comparing myself and trying to be like them. Oscar Wilde put it perfectly when he said "...everyone else is taken". We are all unique and perfectly imperfect in our own ways. It took me a long time to remember that and I am making a resolution to not forget it again.

With the pressures of the world and the media to be skinny, beautiful, perfect, and make life look effortless it is super easy to forget that we are children of a Heavenly Father who loves us. He made us the way we are and doesn't want us to try to be something we aren't. Being a beautiful child of God is a great gift that we have all been given and He loves us for being ourselves. Don't change to try and fit the standards of the world, let your light shine and show the world that you can be happy by simply being you!

I know it has been said a lot, but I feel like it is a topic that will never truly go away. My advice for the new year would be to just be yourself! I have already been so much happier and I can't wait to see where this new year will take me!

Happy New Year!

And don't forget to be-YOU-tiful!

How to Survive Finals Week

Winter is here and with it comes finals week! The most dreaded week of all those who are enrolled in higher education. Many people crash and burn when it comes to finals week so I decided to share some of my tips and tricks to doing well and staying positive during this trying week.

1. Stay Organized: It can be really easy to not know what to study next or get confused on which final is more important. I find keeping a detailed planner very helpful. First, write the date and time of each of your finals in the appropriate space. Second, plan out the days you will study for each final. If one final is going to be easier than another you can spend less time studying on that one and focus on the ones that are going to be more difficult.

2. Take Breaks: Your brain can only take in so much information at a time. If you are constantly studying and doing nothing else from sun up to sun down it is almost guaranteed that you will crash and burn. Set a timer for yourself for how long you are going to study for (I suggest no more than 1 hour straight). Then allow yourself a 10-15 minute break before you go back to studying. This way your mind will have a few minutes to rest instead of running a marathon.

3. Don't Stress: Find time each day to de-stress. Some of my favorite ways are running, taking a hot shower, actually cooking a meal, writing in my journal, yoga, or simply calling my mom to talk for a bit. It is important to find ways to relax otherwise you are at a high risk of becoming sick after your finals are over. Plus, being stressed can simply make you go crazy!!

4. Get Out of the House: Studying at home can often seem like the most convenient place to study. But it is also the place with the most amount of distractions.  Go find a quiet place in the library, your favorite book store, or even coffee shop. It is so much easier to focus when you don't have other people walking in and out or even your bed tempting you to simply crawl in.

5. Sleep: This might sound like an obvious tip but it is also probably the most important. If you stay up all night cramming and only get two or three hours of sleep, you will not do your best on your exam. It is always better to go to bed and wake up a little bit earlier to get a few last minutes of review than pulling an all-nighter. You will have more energy and your mind will retain more information. It is scientifically proven that your brain needs sleep in order to store the things you study each day.

Those are my tips for surviving finals week! I hope this has helped you in some way!

Inspiring and Uplifting Blogs

There are so many blogs out in the world it can sometimes be hard to decide which ones to spend your time on skimming and which ones to actually read. There are just so many options out there! Everything from fashion to family to fitness to food. If you put it into Google there will be a plethora of options for you to choose from.

I decided to share with all of you some of my favorite blogs that I think are worth your time to read. They aren't beauty blogs, or food blogs...they are simply inspiring blogs. I have found that the blogs that are truly worth my time reading aren't the ones that focus on one main theme, but are the ones that share their real lives and help inspire you to be a better person.

So here are some of my favorite blogs that I believe are definitely worth the time it takes to read through them word for word.

The first blog I would recommend is by the Gardiner Sisters. This cute family of sisters shares not only their beautiful talent for singing, but also the little things that make them who they are. They share their love for family, Christ, music, delicious treats and so much more. You can really see the love that they have for each other. Their blog is full of so much dedication and insight and can really brighten your day when the clouds start to hang over your head.

Stephanie Nielson is a very well known blogger. Her story is so inspiring to anyone who has heard it. Her blog truly shows you that it doesn't matter what trials you face in life, you can always come out on top and find your happiness again. If you don't know her story click here to find out just how inspiring this woman truly is.

The third blog I would like to mention is called Something Devine. This cute little family has the amazing opportunity to travel around the world and truly make a difference. But the thing I love the most about this blog is that they show the little ways you can be happy in your own home. You don't have to travel everywhere to make things happen. They often throw little reminders of what the most important things in life truly are and how we can change to create a better world.

Last, but certainly not least, is a blog called Willivia. Will and Olivia are an adorable young couple from Utah who are always looking for new ways to have fun. They love to travel, try new foods, and spend time with their loved ones. But my favorite thing about this blog is how real Olivia is with what she posts. She writes about things she personally would like to work on, lessons that she's learned or has been learning, and her feelings about life. It really feels like she expresses the person that is inside of her.

What are your favorite blogs to read?
